Bally Ribbon Mills at SAFE Association 63rd Annual Symposium showcases its safety webbings and tapes

Visit Booth #727 to see unique materials ideal for safety and aerospace safety applications

High-Performance Webbings

Bally Ribbon Mills (BRM) will highlight its creative product design and development solutions at the SAFE Association 63rd Annual Symposium. This event takes place November 4–6 at the Mobile Convention Center in Mobile, AL, Booth #727.

On display will be a selection of the company’s high-performance webbings, including safety webbings and tapes. These products are ideal for military, erospace, fire, law enforcement, industrial, and commercial fall protection personal protective equipment (PPE) . The display will also feature specialty items that showcase BRM’s advanced capabilities.

Products Manufactured to MIL and PIA Specifications

Using decades of weaving expertise, BRM designs, engineers, and manufactures materials that maximize the performance characteristics and properties of end products. These include strength, durability, and resistance to abrasion, chemicals, heat, and weather. BRM also manufactures to many MIL and PIA specifications. The company takes pride in helping customers solve problems and create innovative solutions during the material selection, design, and development phases.

BRM’s services include the development of customized innovations, complete engineering and solutions, sample preparation, and full-scale and specialty manufacturing.

Fiber Optic Sensors and Vectran® Webbing

BRM partnered with Sierra Space on an exciting project. The team wove embedded fiber optic sensors into Vectran® webbing and later integrated the material into an inflatable test article. It was then tested at NASA Johnson Space Center. The goal was to evaluate its potential use in future inflatable habitat structures for NASA’s Lunar Gateway and Mars missions.

In addition, BRM is also advancing development with DuPont’s next-generation para-aramid fiber, Kevlar® EXO, which offers substantially greater strength and reduced weight compared to traditional Kevlar, with promising applications in parachutes and aerospace safety systems.

Visit BRM’s Booth

Experts will be on hand at booth #727 to show how BRM can design, develop and manufacture specialized, engineered, woven safety webbings and tapes. Made from Nylon, Polyester, Nomex®, Kevlar®, Kevlar® EXO, Vectran®, PBI®, Nextel®, and other specialty fibers, BRM’s safety webbing and tapes are ideal for applications requiring high tenacity, abrasion resistance and flame and heat resistance. They are also a good choice for controlled elongation applications as well as those requiring chemical resistance in specific environments, and can be used for shoulder straps, harness webbing, and chin straps, as well as helmet suspension, binding tapes, loop tapes, lap belts, shock absorbing webbing, flotation device webbings, parachute assemblies, and other aerospace safety applications.
